Wave Stitch Baby Blanket - Free Crochet Pattern

My brother recently announced that he will be welcoming his first child into the world (Yay!) This means I will be an Auntie for the FIRST TIME! To celebrate the new little baby entering our family I just had to make him/her their own custom baby blanket! What better way to do that than using a simple stitch pattern that fits both a baby boy or girl; The Wave Stitch! I did use three different colors for this pattern that I found at Hobby Lobby, a gold, cream and white. These colors fit both sexes so it was just perfect!

Finished Measurement:

32” Wide

24” Long

Gauge:

Using 5.00mm Crochet Hook

20 Double Crochet Stitches = 4”

8 Double Crochet Rows = 4”


Materials:

-5.00mm Crochet Hook

- 3 Colors of light weight (3) yarn (I used Hobby Lobby’s Must Be Merino in Gold, Ivory, and White)

- Scissors

- Yarn Needle

Multiple:

This stitch uses a 13 stitch multiple. To increase/decrease the width make sure to do so 13 stitches at a time.

Begin using color A

Ch143

R1 - DC into the 4th Ch from the hook, DC into next 3 chains, 3DC into next chain, DC into next 5 chains,* Sk2, DC into next 5 Sts, 3DC into next chain, DC into next 5 chains, Repeat from * across

R2 - Ch3, Turn, Sk1, DC into next 4 Sts, 3DC into next stitch, DC into next 5 Sts, * Sk2 sts, DC into next 5 Sts, 3DC into next stitch, DC into next 5 Sts, Repeat from * across, on last multiple end with DC into 4 Sts, Sk1, DC into last stitch

Repeat Row 2 for a total of 6 rows.

Switch to color B

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color C

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color B

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color A

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color B

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color C

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color B

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

Switch to color A

Repeat Row 2 for 6 more rows.

End with a total of 54 rows. Fasten off, weave in all ends.
