Do ya’ll remember the bun hat craze of 2017? Well, I’m still in it and I’m not planning on leaving anytime soon. Sorry, not sorry! I thought it would be fun to change things up, I went back to my original Brenna Messy Bun Beanie and decided I would take that same pattern but shrink it up for the little people in our lives, child-size Brenna Bun Beanies! Yay!

I receive messages all the time asking me how to convert the pattern to a child-size. Honestly, I didn’t plan on ever doing it for one simple reason; Tilly had basically no hair until she was two. Now, when I say she finally got hair around 2, I mean like a minuscule amount of hair. Basically, until recently she’s finally grown enough hair for me to give her a proper messy bun so she can take photos wearing the hat.

Yup, you read that correctly. This entire time I’ve just been waiting for Tilly to grow enough hair so we all could enjoy a child Brenna Bun Beanie. You can’t really blame me though, I needed a cute little model and her name is in the blog title!
