Today we will be making an exceedingly quick and effortless summer cup cozy!
We've all been there. It's a hot summer day. You're hanging outside, sunbathing, just doing your thing and you reach to take a drink of your cold iced macchiato from your fav coffee shop,
but wait... UGH
your cup is covered in water droplets! So annoying! (Exaggerating a little but you get my point.)
Don't you wish you had a pretty way to prevent those little droplets to stop getting all over you and your table? Well, here it is folks!

In all the years I've been crocheting/knitting I am yet to make a pom pom rug! Of course, this DIY does not require you to crochet/knit but with having such a large yarn stash you would think I'd have made one by now.
I've been pretty busy lately, as most of you know this blog is new to me and I'm still working on coming up with fun DIY projects for you all. I've actually been in an inspiration rut lately, when this happens I will often leave my house and just wonder around town. So that's exactly what I did!
Recently, a family friend of ours visited us and she happened to bring along dish scrubbies. Random? Yes. Useful? Totally.
As our we chatted she began to tell me about her dish scrubbies, she went on to say that making them was her "thing." She exclaimed, "They are a great and quick project that I am easily able to sell for my fundraisers."
This throw has definitely made it's way to the top of my "Favorite Cozy Blankets I've made list" mostly do to the fact I despise crocheting blankets and i've honestly only made 3 in my crochet career.
As for the name; Hygge. I chose this Danish name specifically because of it's wondrous meaning.
" In Danish, hygge (pronounced “HUE-gah”) is one such word. Though there are many ways to describe hygge, we see it simply as the Danish ritual of enjoying life's simple pleasures. Friends. Family. Graciousness."

The Opal shrug has to be the most "out of my comfort zone" pattern i've created yet. That may sound odd, do to the fact this design is a simple shrug. But, let's be real here you guy's. I don't EVER wear shrugs. I can never find a shrug that actually fits my body right.
I am going to be sharing the Pereskia Kimono crochet pattern with you all for FREE.
As most of you know I have been slowly (but surely) moving all of my Etsy patterns to my blog. A few months ago I asked my Instagram followers (@Hookedontilly) if I should share the Genesis or Pereskia Kimono first, most of you voted for the Genesis Kimono, which I LOVE so I totally get it. But now it is time for us to get started on the Pereskia Kimono!

What I love the most about this pattern is the fact that you are able to use pretty much any texture/fiber of yarn and the blanket will always turn out beautiful! Don't feel like you have to use the same yarn I did, I've used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick and this blanket turns out just as squishy and gorgeous as always.
The Tilia Baby Blanket was inspired by my daughter Tilia, who also happened to be surprise...surprise...The inspiration behind my business name Hooked On Tilly!
The drape this blanket has is AMAZING!
