Chunky Scrunchy - Free Crochet Pattern

Today I have a really quick and easy crochet pattern for you all. A chunky Scrunchy!

So, If you haven’t noticed by now, scrunchies are back! I must admit I am actually so happy about this for the simple fact that my curly hair loves scrunchies! No knots no problems, am I right?

This project is a great stash buster for those yarn scraps or yarn that you’ve had sitting in the back of your closet for years. Use any weight yarn with the corresponding crochet hook, work as many triple crochets you want until you reach your desired “scrunch” and fasten off! It’s seriously that easy.

Materials:

Bulky (6) yarn

8.00mm Crochet Hook

Hair Tie

Scissors

Yarn Needle

Pattern:

Step 1 - Take your yarn and begin tying a knot around your elastic hair tie.

Note - Crochet around the loose end (One less end to weave in later!)

Step - Chain 3, Triple crochet as many times around the hair tie until you reach your desired “scrunch,” I crochet 54 stitches, Slip stitch into the chain 3 space and fasten off.

Weave in your ends and you’re done!
