A few years ago bun beanies went VIRAL. And when I say viral, I mean instantly overnight these stylish beanies took over the internet. I remember being tagged in a multitude of photos of these hats on Facebook, so I decided to make a few and see how they did on my Etsy shop.

They sold out instantly.

At the time I had never experienced what "Holiday Busyness" was actually like as an Etsy seller. The thrill of making so much money so quickly was amazing, I loved the idea of making money crocheting and the extra income during the holiday season was a blessing.

My business has grown over the years and I no longer sell finished products.

BUT, during the holiday season I still make and sell a few of my Brenna Bun Beanies. I always enjoy the process of making, tagging, packaging, and dropping them off at the post office. As a pattern designer It's far and few between that I am actually selling my finished products.

During the holiday season (late August-December) I find my Brenna Messy Bun Beanie pattern sells like hot cakes, now that i've transitioned to blogging, it only seems right that I post one of my best selling patterns for all of you guy's to enjoy as well. '

Bun hats are SO FUN because we have never seen something like this in stores, until recently. As a women with long hair, I love the ability to wear a beanie during those cold days without worrying about my hair being squishy and hot against my head. I'm actually able to wear a messy bun AND a beanie at the same time.

it's just magical.

So, after a long time of contemplating I will be sharing my most prized pattern with you all; The Brenna Messy Bun Beanie. I recommend using Caron Simply Soft yarn only because the shine this acrylic gives off is unlike any other. I've used a variety of yarns for this design and Caron is the only yarn to really show off both the stitch definition and give you a variety of color choices.
